PAOK make first summer signing with Leveque
PAOK announced their first summer signing of the summer with French defender Dorian Leveque.
The 27-year old joined PAOK on a free-transfer after being released from French side Guingamp. The defender signed a three year contract with the Thessalonikis club until 2020. He will wear #6 next season.
Leveque has played with Guingamp since 2010 when the side was in the French Ligue 2. After two “full” seasons with the club, his 2012/13 season was marked by a rare injury on his ankle which left him out for most of the year. However, Guingamp secured promotion to the first division finishing in second place behind Monaco.
It was a magical first season for Guingamp in the 2013/14 Ligue 1, with Levaque starting as the club’s left back, leading them to a historic run to the Coupe de France title. The next season (2014/15) he made more appearances with the club (26) and played in the Europa League where he faced PAOK in the group stages. In the end, Guingamp eliminated the Greek team from the competition.
The club then went through some coaching changes while Leveque faced some injuries, costing his place in the starting lineup. He did not renew his contract with Guingamp at the end of this season and moved to Thessaloniki for PAOK to continue his career.
