Iraklis tasted defeat for a second consecutive week after falling 2:0 on the road to Doxa Dramas. The hosts notched two first-half goals through Chamorro (9) and Koukounas (40) and maintained their advantage through to the final whistle. The result sees Iraklis fall 15 points behind leaders, Volos NFC, and the fight for promotion is well out of reach for the Thessalonikis early on in the season.

Volos NFC were given good news during the midweek as they were awarded three points for their match against Doxa Dramas, where they lost 2:1. Volos received a forfeit victory due to the hosts (Drama) appointing their team doctor as the official doctor of the fixture, something forbidden by the Football League’s rules. The three points moved Volos up to 22 points ahead of Apollon Larissas (20 point) into first place.

The Thessaly club increased their lead atop the standings to five points after defeating Irodotos 0:2 on the road on Saturday. Mantzis opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Iliopoulos doubling the visitors’ lead in the 44th minute.

Kerkyra also fell further behind in the fight for promotion as they gave up a lead to play to a 1:1 draw with struggling Trikala. The islanders opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Siatravanis, however nine minutes from time, Simelidis notched home the equalizer for Trikala. Kerkyra sit on 17 points, eight behind leaders Volos NFC, while Trikala are fourth from bottom with seven points.

Ergotelis, who had an explosive start to the season, slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in league play on Saturday. Aiginiakos took down the Cretan side 1:0 at home with Polyzos’ 14th minute goal separating the sides at the final whistle. Ergotelis sit in fifth with 14 points while Aiginiakos jumped out of the relegation zone with nine points in 11th place.
