PAOK sign Moulin and Mihojevic on deadline day

PAOK made two further winter transfers on deadline day, taking French midfielder Thibault Moulin from Legia Warsaw and signing Sarajevo defender Marko Mihojevic.

The first move saw Moulin arrive in Thessaloniki, with PAOK reporting on their official website that the contract with the 28-year old Frenchman will run for three years. Moulin, who previously played with current PAOK forward Aleksandar Prijovic in Legia Warsaw, will add further creativity to the club’s midfield. He even scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League a few seasons ago, a marker which was set up by none other than Prijovic. In Poland, he won the league title in May 2017 and registered three goals and one assist for Legia during the 2017/2018 campaign. Asides from Legia, Moulin has been on the books of Caen, Chateauroux, Clermont and Waasland-Beveren.

Not long later, Bosnian defender Marko Mihojevic officially joined PAOK. The relatively inexperienced 21-year old signed a two-year contract with the Dikefalos, making the move to Thessaloniki from Sarajevo in his homeland. Playing as a centre-back, Mihojevic stands at 1.91 metres tall and should prove to be a commanding figure in the air. He takes the number 16 at PAOK, previously worn by Gojko Cimirot. Alongside playing for Sarajevo in Bosnia, Mihojevic has also represented Leotar and came through the club’s academy. Interestingly, just two days ago, Mihojevic made his senior debut for the Bosnian national team in a friendly against the USA.

Speaking of Gojko Cimirot, the 25-year old Bosnian ended his PAOK journey by joining Belgian club Standard Liege last week. As previously mentioned in various reports, Cimirot had been deemed surplus to requirements by boss Razvan Lucescu. Another leaving PAOK is defender Dimitris Konstantinidis. The young Greek was believed to be joining Panathinaikos, but it seems as though he will sign for Serie B outfit Brescia. PAOK will retain 30% of Konstantinidis’ rights, even if he makes further transfers in the future.

Albanian midfielder Ergys Kace will become a Panathinaikos player from PAOK. Giannis Mystakidis is transferring to the Greens, but it’s expected that they will both be loan deals.
