PAOK to play Slovan Bratislava in UEL playoffs
PAOK will play Slovan Bratislava in the 2019/2020 UEFA Europa League qualification playoffs.
On Tuesday evening, Slovan Bratislava played Dundalk in the second leg of the third qualifying round, protecting a slender 1:0 advantage from the first game. However, the Slovakian champions practically put the tie out of sight in the first half, as Rafael Ratao and Aleksandar Cavric scored. In the second half, Michael Duffy clawed one back for hosts Dundalk, but Erik Daniel sealed the deal for Slovan with a late third goal.
Initially, Slovan had begun the season in the UEFA Champions League, but they lost to Sutjeska in the first qualifying round. Slovan then defeated Feronikeli in the second qualification phase of the Europa League before beating Dundalk.
Slovan currently occupy joint first place of the 2019/2020 Fortuna Liga table after four rounds.
PAOK conceded a dramatic 4:5 aggregate defeat to Ajax in the Champions League third qualifying round.
The first game will take place in Slovakia on August 22. PAOK will host the return a week later (August 29).
