PAOK’s roster in the Netherlands
PAOK arrived in the Netherlands with 29 players for the first stage of preseason training.
PAOK’s preparations for the new season began on Monday as the club traveled to Apeldoorn, Netherlands where the first stage of preseason training will take place. The club’s new coach, Abel Ferreira, is already in the Netherlands and will oversee his first training session on Tuesday.
PAOK’s newest signings, Miroslav Stoch and Douglas Augusto traveled with the team to Apeldoorn after pending new deals with the Thessalonikis over the weekend.
Initially, Dimitris Chatziisaias was not included in the roster for preseason training, as he was not in Razvan Lucescu’s plans for the new season, however after the 26-year-old met with PAOK supremo, Ivan Savvidis, he was given a chance to prove his talents. New boss, Abel Ferreira, will decide if Chatziisaias is worthy of a place on the 2019/20 PAOK roster. The defender has spent the last two seasons on loan at Atromitos.
Sverrir Ingi Ingason will join the squad on Wednesday due to personal matters while captain Adelino Vieirinha stayed back in Thessaloniki to continue his personalized recovery program. On a positive note, both Mauricio and Pontus Vernbloom, who both suffered season-ending ACL injuries during the last campaign, traveled with the rest of the squad to the Netherlands.
