PAOK’s young scorers
PAOK have done a tremendous job in building a successful academy system and AGONAsport takes a closer look at the club’s key scorers at the U15, U17, and U19 levels.
Over the last years, PAOK have done an incredible job within their youth systems. In addition to winning multiple titles domestically and gaining recognition abroad, PAOK have produced great up and coming players.
The Dikefalos tou Vorra have a key hitman in attack at each youth level, U15, U17, and U19. Georgios Koutsias (U15), Christos Tzolis (U17), and Georgios Doumtsis (U19) are the youngsters leading the attacking lines in PAOK’s academies.
Fifteen-year-old Georgios Koutsias has been playing in PAOK’s academies since eight years old. At the U15 level this season, Koutsias made 18 appearances and netted an outstanding 28 goals and dished four assists. He led the PAOK U15’s to the Super League K15 title.
Christos Tzolis, 17, is one of PAOK’s biggest prospects in their youth systems, having joined PAOK’s academies from a young age. In 25 appearances this season (19 as a starter), he netted a tremendous 29 goals and registered six assists. Tzolis can also play on the wings housing great speed and technical ability. Tzolis was also a key figure at the international level, leading Greece to the 2019 UEFA U17 Euro Finals in Ireland.
The PAOK U19’s have a hitman of their own, 19-year-old Georgios Doumtsis from Florina. Doumtsis, who can play as a central and wing striker, scored 13 goals from 32 appearances across all competitions, helping PAOK to an undefeated season and the 2019 Super League K19 title. He joined PAOK’s academies at 13-years-old after impressing PAOK scouts while playing in Florina.
