Olympiacos may have finished five points behind first-placed PAOK, but the Erythrolefki completed the 2018/2019 campaign as the Super League top scorers, registering 69 goals (excluding the three in the 3:0 awarded win against Panathinaikos and including Miguel Angel Guerrero’s marker in the same match) while the Dikefalos tou Vorra scored 66. Kostas Fortounis, who was back at his best this season, was the main driving force in attack.

The attacking midfielder tallied 12 goals for Olympiacos in 28 Super League games, and alongside claiming the title of the team’s top scorer, he finished as the championship’s leading player in terms of assists with nine. Second place is occupied by gifted Portuguese winger Daniel Podence with eight assists to his name. Signed on a controversial free transfer last summer from Sporting Lisbon, the 23-year-old subsequently went on to impress in Greece, standing out with his superb technical ability. Podence scored five league goals to accompany his eight assists.

Diego Biseswar (seven assists) and Leo Jaba (six assists) of PAOK are also in the top five. Now 31 years of age, the experienced Biseswar was in fantastic form for PAOK, scoring eight goals and dishing out seven assists as he provided the spark in the attacking third. Leo Jaba, having joined from Terek Grozny, struck up excellent mutual understanding with Chuba Akpom and boasts potential in abundance.

In joint fourth position we have AEK’s Croatian star Marko Livaja. To be honest, it was a largely forgettable season for the Kitrinomavri, as they finished in a distant third place of the Super League, came last in their UEFA Champions League group and lost in the Greek Cup final for the third successive season. The talented, albeit fiery, Livaja faced criticism at times, but the 25-year-old made six assists and netted seven goals in the Super League. His wonderful assist for Christos Almpanis’ winner against Atromitos practically guaranteed third position for AEK and a berth in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League:
