In Thessaloniki, PAOK were no match for OFI, emerging 4:0 winners thanks to goals from Leo Matos, Chuba Akpom (2) and Leo Jaba. Temporarily, their lead at the top stood at 11 points, but that was soon cut to eight when Konstantinos Fortounis and Lazaros Christodoulopoulos secured a tough 2:0 victory for Olympiacos at Asteras Tripolis. OFI are now in 14th as their relegation fears worsen, while Asteras languish in 11th spot and are nervously looking over their shoulders.

Reigning champions AEK, who have been playing like a completely different team in 2019, edged a tight encounter with Panionios 2:0 in Nea Smyrni as Petros Mantalos and Ezequiel Ponce struck gold. As a result of Atromitos’ defeat to Lamia, AEK are now four points ahead of the Peristeri outfit in third, as daylight between the two is beginning to appear. Panionios and Lamia are midtabe in 10th and 12th position respectively.

Panathinaikos’ slump continued as they drew 1:1 in Athens against 10-man AE Larissa. Sitting in fifth place, the Greens are now nine points behind AEK, and their hopes of finishing in the top three have rapidly diminished. Improving AEL are ninth with 20 points.

Elsewhere, Levadiakos pulled away from bottom club Apollon Smyrnis with a 1:0 win over eighth placed Aris at home to keep their survival bid alive, PAS Giannina defeated Apollon 1:0 at home, and seventh placed Panetolikos drew 0:0 with sixth placed Xanthi in Agrinio.
