PAOK had the opportunity to become champions of Greece on Sunday, but after being held to a 1:1 draw at AEL, their wait to seal the trophy continues for at least another week. In the second half, Dimitris Pelkas opened the scoring for the visitors, but Nikola Jakimovski snatched an equaliser for AEL. Larissa are now three points clear of the drop zone in 10th position.

In Piraeus, Olympiacos managed to keep their unlikely title hopes alive, as they thrashed sorry Xanthi 4:0 at the Karaiskakis Stadium. Guilherme bagged a brace in the opening 16 minutes, before Omar Elabdellaoui and Kostas Fortounis also hit the jackpot to clinch the three points. Xanthi are now in 11th spot, and with two rounds remaining, they only have a one-point advantage over 13th placed OFI. It promises to be a nervy end to the season for Milan Rastavic’s troops.

Atromitos will have another shot at the European football. Thanks to their impressive 2:0 victory against nearest challengers Aris with Giorgos Masouras and Efthymis Koulouris scoring, the Peristeri organisation cannot be caught in fourth due to their superior head-to-head record, and they will compete in the 2019/2020 UEFA Europa League.

In welcome news to Aris, Panathinaikos conceded a surprise 1:3 defeat to OFI in Athens. Federico Macheda’s own goal and markers from Ismail Sassi and Giorgos Giakoumakis handed OFI a vital victory, and with PAS Giannina and Asteras Tripolis playing to a 0:0 draw, the Cretans are now in 13th place which grants a berth in the relegation/promotion playoff against the second best Football League side.

Levadiakos are gone. A positive result was required against Panionios at home to keep their survival hopes alive, but the Levadeia team contrived to lose 1:2 at home. On the other hand, Panionios are now in eighth position, and the Panthers have guaranteed their place in the 2019/2020 Super League.

AEK took the lead against Lamia with Petros Mantalos netting, but after Jeronimo Barrales’ two goals, they had to rely on Lucas Boye scoring to tally a 2:2 draw. The Kitrinomavri are still comfortable in third, while Lamia occupy ninth.

Agrinio outfit Panetolikos, in the midst of a three-game losing streak, finally got back to winning ways with a slender 1:0 triumph at relegated Apollon Smyrnis to overtake Panathinaikos into sixth.
