The PAOK train is showing no signs of slowing. On Saturday, the Dikefalos tou Vorra proved too strong for visitors Xanthi at the Toumba Stadium, earning an important 2:0 victory with Aleksandar Prijovic and Mauricio finding the net. PAOK’s night was made even better when they learned of AEK’s result in Agrinio. The reigning Greek champions, who seem to have pressed the self destruct button, lost 1:2 to Panetolikos and are 12 points off the pace in a lowly seventh spot. It will take a miracle for AEK to somehow claw their way back into the title race.

In Peristeri, Atromitos were hoping to keep up with PAOK, but they lost their first match of the season 1:2 at home to Olympiacos with dramatic second half goals from Mohamed Camara and Jagos Vukovic cancelling out Efthymis Koulouris’ opener.  Atromitos still occupy second position, but Olympiacos are gradually improving, trailing PAOK by six points in third place.

Elsewhere, a thrilling comeback against OFI allowed Aris to rise to fifth on 18 points, struggling Apollon Smyrnis stay rooted to the bottom after a thrashing at the hands of Panathinaikos, and PAS Giannina picked up their second win of the season with a 2:0 victory over Levadiakos.
