All eyes were on Thessaloniki. In a highly anticipated encounter, PAOK hosted Olympiacos at the Toumba Stadium, winning 3:1 with goals from Vieirinha, Diego Biseswar and Chuba Akpom sealing the victory. As a result of the win, PAOK are now nine points clear of Olympiacos in first place, and barring a dramatic collapse, they will end their 34-year wait for a Greek championship title. AEK, who are in third spot, defeated OFI 1:0 at home to move within five points of Olympiacos with the two sides set to meet in Piraeus next week. OFI are in 14th with 17 points.

On Monday, Aris breezed past struggling Asteras in Tripoli, claiming a 3:0 win as Daniel Larsson, Nicolas Diguiny and Mateo Garcia registered goals. With Panathinaikos losing 0:1 to 13th placed PAS Giannina, Aris are now pulling away in fifth spot, four points ahead of the Athenians. Asteras are mid-table in 10th with 21 points to their name.

The shock of the week was witnessed in Nea Smyrni. Apollon Smyrnis surprisingly managed to beat Panionios 1:0, and after this victory, they are 11 points away from exiting the automatic relegation slots. Atromitos kept the heat on AEK with a 1:0 triumph over relegation candidates Levadiakos, Xanthi failed to score for the fourth successive game in a 0:0 draw with Lamia, and Panetolikos picked up a point in a 2:2 tie against AEL. Asteras, Lamia and AEL all have 21 points each
