The Rethymno Cretan Kings continued their dominance of the Basket League All-Star Dunk Contest on Sunday night, as Stefan Moody became the third consecutive representative from the Cretan club to win the event.
Moody, who signed with Rethymno last summer, defeated Koroivos’ Jahii Carson in the final round to claim the Dunk Contest title and follow in the footsteps of former Rethymno players Brent Petway (2013), and Kenny Gabriel (2014).
Moody’s dunk arsenal included many highlights, but perhaps his most notable dunk was when he used Thanasis Antetokounmpo – who was initially supposed to compete in the contest – as a prop before jumping over the Panathinaikos forward for a sensational dunk.
Perhaps the most incredible part about Moody’s performance is that he is listed as having a height of just 5 feet, 10 inches.
Moody and Carson contested the second and final round of the dunk contest after emerging as the two highest scorers in the first round, ahead of the likes of Michael Kizer (Kymis), Octavius Ellis (Promitheas), and Antwaine Wiggins (Lavrio).
