OLYMPIC SPORTS (RIO 2016 PARALYMPICS): Che John Fernandes won the gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put F53 event soon after Pavlos Mamalos’ gold in Weightlifting. His best throw was registered at 8.44 meters.
OLYMPIC SPORTS (RIO 2016 PARALYMPICS): Thanasis Konstantinidis has won his second medal at the Rio Paralympic Games! After his gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put F32 category, the Greek athlete won the silver medal in the Men’s Club Throw F32 event.
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: OLYMPIC GOLD FOR KATERINA STEFANIDIS! The Greek athlete has won the GOLD medal in the Women's Pole Vault Event. It is Greece's 3rd gold medal at the Rio 2016 Games and the first gold medal in Track & Field since 2004. Her best jump was recorded at 4.85 meters!
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Katerina Stefanidis has secured her place in the Women's Pole Vault Final Round! One jump of 4.60 meters was enough for Stefanidis to progress to Saturday's final.
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: The big jump did not come for Kostas Filippidis...The Greek Pole vaulter finished in 7th place in the Final Round of the competition only registering one successful jump at 5.50 meters.
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Voula Papachristou failed to record a big jump in the Final round of the Women’s Triple Jump and finished 8th in the competition. Her best jump was 14.26 meters.
GREECE RIO 2016 OLYMPICS: Konstantinos Filippidis secured his place in the Men’s Pole Vault Final with a jump of 5.70 meters. The Greek athlete seemed very confident in the qualifying round as he finished second in place.
