CYPRIOT SOCCER (FIRST DIVISION): It is not old news that Greek basketball players and coaches star on the European basketball stage. Over the years, both players and coaches have left their mark with their respective clubs, leading their teams to many achievements and titles with this season proving to be no different. EUROLEAGUE: Olympiacos may have lost the Euroleague title to Fenerbahce this past weekend, however it was not the end of an interesting streak. Even though a Turkish club won Europe’s premier club basketball championship, there was still a Greek flavor to the victory.

EUROLEAGUE Greek coach, Dimitris Itoudis, was named the Euroleague Coach of the Year after winning this season’s competition with CSKA Moscow. Georgios Bartzokas finished in second place for this year’s honor.

EUROLEAGUE: What a Game….In a thrilling game, CSKA defeated Fenerbahce 96-101 in overtime to win this year’s Euroleague Title. The Turkish side came back from 21 points down to send the game into overtime, but the Russian team prevailed in the extra period. Dimitrios Itoudis defeated his “teacher” Obradovic and became the second Greek coach to win the Euroleague.**HIGHLIGHTS**

EUROLEAGUE: CSKA Moscow and Fenerbahce defeated Lokomotiv Kuban and Laboral Kutxa, respectively and advanced to the Euroleague Basketball Final. Although no Greek teams took part in today’s Final-4, Greeks players and coaches stole the spotlight in today’s action in Berlin.
