GAMMA ETHNIKI: Ionikos and Thesprotos earned promotion to next year’s Football League and will return to the professional divisions after a long absence. Triglia upset Nestos Chrysoupolis on the road in what was a memorable day for the Halkidiki club.
GAMMA ETHNIKI: Ionikos played to a 2:2 draw away to Aiolikos in the Gamma Ethniki promotion playoffs while Thesprotos shocked Niki Volou on the road with 0:1 victory. Triglia and Nestos Chrysoupolis played to a goalless draw.
GREEK SOCCER CUP: OFI, Xanthi and Atromitos all progressed to the Last 16 of the Greek Cup, however AE Larissa’s match at Apollon Pontou was called off because of a power shortage.
GREEK SOCCER CUP: In the Greek Cup, OFI defeated Niki Volou, AEL eased past Irodotos, Levadiakos didn’t encounter any problems against Aris Avato, but PAS Lamia 1964 could only draw with Volos NFC.
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE: Unfortunately, the vast majority of teams that are relegated from the Superleague fail to complete their season in the Football League, with Iraklis being the latest example of this disappointing outcome in Greek football.
