Team Giannis comes up short against Team LeBron
Team Giannis had the lead early on but a second half comeback secured a 178-164 win for Team LeBron in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte on Sunday night…
Team LeBron used a second half comeback to pull-off a 178-164 win in Sunday’s 2019 NBA All-Star Game at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center.
Team Giannis surged out of the gates as the Milwaukee Bucks duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton powered Team Giannis to a 53-37 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In what was an offensive spectacle, Antetokounmpo stole the headlines in the first half with an incredible dunk off a towering bounce pass from Steph Curry.
Team Giannis still led by double digits at halftime, but a second half rally from Team LeBron sealed the win for the side captained by LeBron James.
Antetokounmpo, who was competing in his third All-Star Game, led all scorers on the night with 38 points and also corralled 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
Despite Antetokounmpo‘s heroics, it was Team LeBron’s Kevin Durant who won the MVP honours as the Golden State Warriors superstar finished with 31 points and 6 rebounds for his second career All-Star Game MVP nod.
