The home fans created an electrifying atmosphere at the Peace and Friendship stadium for a do or die game 5 in the Euroleague playoffs between Olympiacos and Anadolu Efes (series tied 2-2). The hosts got off to a shaky start with Efes taking a 4-point lead into halftime 37-41.

Olympiacos started the second half with a 9-0 run and with a much improved display on the defensive end, the Erythrolefki turned things around in the third quarter to take a 5-point lead (63-59) into the final 10 minutes of play.

In the final quarter, Olympiacos maintained their comfortable lead with Efes coming as close as four points (76-72), to keep their hopes alive for a late comeback. However, with 1:44 remaining, Georgios Printezis struck from behind the arch to give Olympiacos a 9-point advantage (83-74), a lead that could not be overturned, and the Erythrolefki celebrated the 87-78 win along with their passionate supporters.

The captain, Vassilis Spanoulis, led the charge once again with 22-points and 6-assists and will play in his 6th final four in 9 years and his 10th overall. The 34-year old was named the MVP of today's game. Printezis added 14 points and scored big baskets in the end to help Olympiacos to victory. Green finished with 10 points, Birch with 9 points and 11 rebounds, and the “game changer” Papapetrou scored 8 points.

For Perasovic’s side, 6 players finished with double digit points including, Osman, Honeycutt, Brown, Granger, Ertel, and Tomas.

Olympiacos return to the Euroleague Final-4 after a one year absence and will face CSKA in the semi-finals on May 19th in Constantinople. It is the club’s 10th Final-4 in their history and in a few weeks Olympiacos will look to win their 4th Euroleague title!
