Vieirinha named Greek Cup final MVP
PAOK’s influential left-back Vieirinha took the title of the Greek Cup final’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) on Saturday, with the 32-year old inspiring his team to victory.
With the Greek Cup final against AEK Athens locked at 0:0 on 65 minutes, Vieirinha stepped up to take a free-kick just outside of the penalty area, curling a delicious effort beyond the despairing dive of goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas. Overall, the former Portuguese international impressed with his excellent performance in the showpiece match in the Greek capital, setting the tone with his commitment and desire.
Following the match, Vieirinha was named the game’s MVP, as his teammates gave him a rousing round of applause. He then hoisted the Greek Cup aloft with PAOK captain Stelios Malezas.
