GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 25
|Xanthi||1 - 0||Panetolikos|
Xanthi clinched a narrow but vital 1-0 home win over Panaitolikos on Sunday which saw Milan Rastavac’s team move into fifth place in the SuperLeague, while Lamia took another step towards SuperLeague survival after claiming a point in a 1-1 home draw with Levadiakos.
Matias Castro scored the only goal of the game after 23 minutes of a tense and high quality matchday 25 encounter at the Xanthi FC Arena, as Xanthi bounced back from last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Atromitos.
The victory helped push Xanthi up three places from eighth to fifth spot with 35 points from 25 matches. Panionios and Asteras are in close attention on 33 points in sixth and seventh respectively, while Panathinaikos are a further point behind.
|Lamia||1 - 1||Levadiakos|
|Tsoukalos 40'||Giakoumakis 33'|
In Lamia, the home side did more than enough to earn a crucial point in a 1-1 draw with Levadiakos at the Lamia Municipal Stadium.
Petros Giakoumakis gave Levadiakos a 33rd-minute lead in this tightly-contested matchday 25 affair at the Lamia Municipal Stadium, but Nikos Tsoukalos levelled matters five minutes before half-time.
The result moved 13th-placed Lamia on to 24 points - five points clear of the relegation zone, while Levadiakos are six points better off up in 11th.
