Zahid to join Panathinaikos on loan, Nunes arrives in Athens
Joao Nunes arrived in Athens on Monday to sign a deal with Panathinaikos while the Prasini have come to an agreement to sign Ghayas Zahid on loan from APOEL.
Joao Nunes will be the latest addition to the Panathinaikos roster as the Portuguese defender arrived on Monday in Athens to sign with the Trifylli. The 23-year-old will pen a three-year deal with the Athenian club after completing the necessary medical tests.
Nunes, primarily a center-back (can also play right-back and as a defensive midfielder), is currently a free agent after his three-year stay in Poland with Lechia Gdansk came to an end. There, he made a total of 81 appearances while registering one assist.
After a tedious negotiation process, Panathinaikos and APOEL have come to a loan agreement for Ghayas Zahid. The midfielder will join the Prasini on a season-long loan deal from APOEL, which includes a buy-out option next summer. APOEL released an official statement confirming the loan deal with Panathinaikos.
Zahid is expected in Athens to undergo the necessary medical tests and sign his new contract with Panathinaikos. The 24-year-old has been on the books with the Cypriot champions since 2017 having registered 13 goals and 19 assists from 71 appearances.
